TWO is a collaborative project for Motion Bank by Maria Palazzi (ACCAD/Design) and Norah Zuniga-Shaw (ACCAD/Dance) at The Ohio State University.   TWO examines choreographic thinking in the construction of performance improvisation for small groups in the processes and choreographic structures of American choreographer Bebe Miller and the Bebe Miller Company and European choreographer Thomas Hauert and the Zoo Company.

The participation and contributions of dancers from the respective companies will be an important part of the process (two dancers and one dramaturge in Miller’s company and three dancers in Hauert’s company). Through this project we will make visible a collection of the choreographic improvisation strategies of Miller and Hauert by expanding and connecting that thinking to related processes in the creation of information objects (animation, computer science, scientific visualization) and to similar processes in other disciplines of interest to those involved. The results will be shared publicly as part of the suite of projects in the Motion Bank initiative of The Forsythe Company in 2013.

Motion Bank, is a new four year project (2010-2013) of The Forsythe Company providing a broad context for research into choreographic practice. The main focus is on the creation of on-line digital scores in collaboration with guest choreographers to be made publicly available via the Motion Bank website.
